I have recently fomate a computer and add to our network. That's where the real problems started. I have a Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition Service Pack 2 network and i can connect windows xp service pack 2 workstations to it all day long, but this time 'windows cannot find an account for your computer on the domain' message when I try and join the domain.

I can however, connect to the internet proxy machine on the network.
I can access network resources,

but using the network ID wizard in >control panel>system>computer name still gives the error :- "windows cannot find an account for your computer on the CREWTECHNOLOGIES.LOCAL domain"

**CREWTECHNOLOGIES.LOCAL is the name of my domain**

the next dialog box says Your computer must be part of a domain and asks for the computer name (which must be the user name?) and the domain name. If I enter these details the following error occurs:-

"A domain controller for the domain CREWTECHNOLOGIES.LOCAL could not be contacted - ensure domain name is typed correctly." The name is typed correctly.

clicking on the details tab give the following info:-

The domain name CREWTECHNOLOGIES.LOCAL might be a NetBIOS domain name. If this is the case, verify that the domain name is properly registered with WINS.

If you are certain that the name is not a NetBIOS domain name, then the following information can help you troubleshoot your DNS configuration.

An error occurred when DNS was queried for the service location (SRV) resource record used to locate a domain controller for domain CREWTECHNOLOGIES.LOCAL.

The error was: "No DNS servers configured for local system."
(error code 0x0000267C DNS_ERROR_NO_DNS_SERVERS)

The query was for the SRV record for _ldap._tcp.dc._msdcs.CREWTECHNOLOGIES.LOCAL

Any help would be much appreciated.

Go into your TCP/IP settings in Network Connections for your network card. Assign your primary DNS server as the IP address of your server. Don't worry about the secondary server. Sounds like your DHCP server is not making your internal DNS server the primary source for DNS queries.

You obviously do not have a clue. Get an IT expert to set this up. A computer name is NOT a user name, and unless the computer name has been added to the server domain host list, or the server is allowed automatic account creation you will never get a domain login. You will also be asked for a the server administrator name before it allows a connection. And you obviously do not have the network set up correctly, or the domain would show instantly for browsing.

i do not see Notre Dame doing it. they're going to start up out with 8 convention video games (because there could be 9 vast East communities). Then they can't fit in army, USC, Michigan, Boston college, Purdue and their different competitors and nevertheless have room for brand spanking new communities. as well that, Notre Dame is continually puffed up in the polls and can't get BCS Bowl video games to lose till they're an self reliant. as an get mutually, they performed 4 valid communities very last twelve months (Penn State, Michigan, USC, and the Bowl adversarial to LSU) and lost to all except Penn State, yet nevertheless were given right into a BCS Bowl. in the journey that they had to play the likes of Rutgers, West Virginia, Louisville, Connecticut, Cincinnati, and South Florida on a more advantageous ordinary foundation, there is not any way Notre Dame could have prevailing seasons very oftentimes. Penn State's decision to hitch the tremendous 10 became no longer a good one as they in straight forward words have a million undefeated season on condition that turning out to be a member of and that twelve months they were unable to play in the nationwide call sport because the tremendous 10 and percent10 weren't in the BCS. Notre Dame could conflict alot more advantageous in the journey that they were in a convention.
