How many Ports are in the Router?

All the other ports are working fine ?

If you have more then One Ports in your router , Why cont you change the connecting to an another port. If we do this , we will know whether the particular Port is working properly or not.

And then see the ports properties,

There will be Two type of problems ,

1 . Hard were Problems.

2. Soft were problems.

1.

May in the router , there will an option to reset. Just do a reset and then connect.Whether it is working properly or not.

And in the Port , Some interface which are in micro might be broken.

2.

Hope you know about the MIB. Just query to the MIB for the particular Port, and Get the port's information. If that Port is fine , the Information will be returned successfully. Otherwise they give some error code about that port's problem , just make a search with that error code in the Google. They will tell what is the problem for that property of the Port.

An another option , just load that MIB to any simulator(ex: SNMP agent simulator) . Now it will be easy for you to query the information of the Particular property.

Hope this will be helpful.

You need to decide which of the two devices you want to do the routing and set things up appropriately.

If your modem is going to do the routing, then you need to turn off the DHCP server on your Dlink router and don't use the Internet/WAN port. If your Dlink router is going to do the routing, then you need to set your modem to bridging mode.

There are a few steps you will need to take to avoid conflict and connect to the internet. Do not use the WAN port on your D-Link router. Use one of the ethernet ports. Change the ip address of your second router (make sure you give it a static ip address that falls outside of your DHCP routing table). Disable the DHCP Server for your second router (you will essentially be using this as an access point). Enable static routing from your second router, to your first one. Turn off the firewall on your second router (the firewall on router number 1 will suffice). If you need further assistance, please contact me.

Why, sorry, why are you trying to route twice?
