In my college dorm that I am going to next year there is internet available but only through an ethernet cable. I was wondering how I could set it up to where i could have wifi throughout my dorm. That way we could have multiple devices connected to the internet simultaneously.

Yes, that should be possible. All you need is a wireless router that is set to bridge mode instead of the normal router/NAT mode. It's very simple to do but I can't walk you through it without knowing what router you're going to get. Search for the terms ethernet WIFI bridge and you should get good information.

You could buy a wireless access point and connect that. If you connection is straight to a router it will work. It may record all connections and send this to your admin. They may also see the wireless and not approve it. They can then remove your connection.
