My Friend and I are trying to play multilayer starcraft over a udp connection but it seems he does not have it on his computer how do we install udp. I have updated his drivers to the latest but still no udp service available. Does anyone know how to get udp on.

UDP is a network protocol that should already be available on your system (it's part of the TCP/IP suite, so if you're online then it's there). Check Windows Firewall options (or whichever firewall you're using) to make sure it's not being blocked.

For Windows Firewall on XP, go to Start -> Control Panel -> Windows Firewall and look at the exceptions tab. If your program is not listed you can manually create an exception for either the UDP port you need left open or for the program itself. To add the port, click on Add Port, name it, specify the port number, set it to UDP, and click OK. To add the program, click on Add Program, locate the main EXE for your game, and click OK.

Be very careful when you create firewall exceptions. If you specify the port only than anything trying to use that port will be allowed through. Double check yourself and only manually add exceptions when you have to. Otherwise you defeat the purpose of your firewall.

I am not sure what you mean about UDP.

As I know UDP is User Datagram Protocol.

This is layer 4 of OSI layer protocol.

You can not install or uninstall this protocol.

You just need to open the port of UDP port.

Witch UDP protocol do you use for play LAN game?

My suggestion you turn off the firewall.

It is part of the operating system. It must be there or he could not use the internet.
