I would like to make my own data connection cable from the modem/router unit and have the RJ45 connectors , CatV wire, and termination tool. Problem is I have forgotten the proper wire code for the termination of the connectors. I know the white/green pair is split but don't remember the correct pin position. Can anyone help me from spending $1.00 a foot for my network cable ?

This is called a 3 way switch. One black wire, one red wire (or it can be black also) and one white wire. A regular switch won't work. A 3 way switch has 3 terminals.
