Why won't the wireless internet at my house work on my laptop?
me.

The internet works multiple other places except my house. There are two other computers in my house which the wireless works on. My laptop says it is connected and it has full bars but if you try to do anything nothing will load. I tried repairing the ip address and it says it cannot be done at this time. Whats going on? and how do I fix it.

This may be stupid, but you have a router correct. I ask this to assure that you are not on a peer-to-peer network.

Are the desktops connected wireless-ly?

Go to the dhcp configuration on the router. Check the number of allocations available, increase the higher ip address if there are not enough. Also try re-positioning the router as high as possible, and clear of obstructions.

To be honest, i don't like wireless at all, cuz i used it and it's always got disconnected. It's slower than wire for sure and has a lot of problems.

Try to turn off the wireless thing, and turn it back on, if it still doesn't work then u should reset ur router. Good luck :)

You may need a network key, MAC authorization or an IP address.

Check that your laptop is set for DHCP. Most routers provide that and that is the easiest way to connect.

mine does that sometimes but that is just cause i pick it up from someone on my street but it will say it is connected but not work you just have to find the right spot in the house, room etc.
