Question:
Why can i not install anything on my Ubuntu?
2011-04-13 14:54:54 UTC
I am trying to install Wine and it tells me
wine1.2:
Depends: libaudio2 but it is not installable
Depends: libesd0 (>=0.2.35) but it is not installable
Depends: libmpg123-0 (>=1.6.2) but it is not installable
Depends: libopenal1 but it is not installable
Recommends: ttf-umefont but it is not installable
Recommends: ttf-mscorefonts-installer but it is not going to be installed
Recommends: wine1.2-gecko but it is not installable
Recommends: gnome-exe-thumbnailer but it is not installable or
kdebase-runtime but it is not going to be installed
Recommends: winetricks but it is not going to be installed
Recommends: wisotool

, also when i try and install it from the software center it tells me Package dependencies cannot be resolved....

This happens with everything I try to install.

I'm running a duel boot with windows 7 and i don't have any problems booting up from either OS, i'm not sure why this is doing this but if you could help that would be very helpful. I'm running Ubuntu 10.10 Desktop version.

how the heck are you installing it?

The lates stable libmpg123 is 1.13.2.

You must be trying to install the development branch or something.

either your Ubuntu install is configured badly, or you are trying to install packages that are not compatible with your distribution.
