Hi, I'm not entirely techie, so here's my problem. We are moving away from MS Exchange 2000 and each person is going to use a persona PST file on his/her computer instead. Currently, we have several users with Exchange mailboxes in our server. Rather than have each person export to a PST file, is there a utility or an easy way to do this directly from the server and without having to login as the individual user?

Our servers is a Windows 2000 server.

Thanks.

Yes, you can use Exmerge for Exchange server to create PSTs from all the user accounts. This worked for me.

It does not work on Exchange server 2007 unless you meet all the conditions specified by the workaround. It is for Exchange 5.5, 2000, and 2003 only. I'm stating this because you may be importing said PSTs into Exchange 2007. In this case, it would be easier to export from your 2000 server using Exmerge and then import to your 2007 server using individual PSTs.

MailNavigator is a powerful system for retrieving information from the archives of the majority of popular mail programs. Versions 0.09 and later include the capability of reading mailboxes in DBX (Outlook Express 5, 6) format. Version 0.12 adds the capability of reading mail in PST (MS Outlook) format.

Depends if you have a mix of laptop users and desktop users. One of the biggest nightmares on a support helpdesk is "Hello, I can't find XYZ personal folder and it was there yesterday". Shared mailboxes are easier to administer.
