hit start and in the box type cmd to get your command prompt to open. in your command prompt type ipconfig you are looking for the default gateway. type that into your browser. 192.168.1.1 is a default for most if that dosent work.

First get the default password by using a Yahoo search with the words default password and the manufacturer name, model number of your router. Type 192.168.1.1 into the address bar of your browser. Note for my setup, I could not get this to work in Opera. Chrome or IE will do. If your default password does not work, somebody has changed it. Get permission from the owner(and ALL the customization you can from the owner, you won't see them unless you do get the passwords) and while the device is powered, press the reset button with a paper clip or pen for 10 seconds and release it(don't use a pencil, it may break). You no longer need the paper clip. Now the default password will work. Most people seriously recommend you change the default passwords right away. Also change the setting to stop broadcasting your SSID. Use WPA or WPA2 for security, never leave it open or on WEP. For some reason, the Actiontec for FIOS also needs to be powered off and on for 20 seconds.

On the PC: Click [Start] - Click [Run...] - enter: cmd, press [ENTER]
-
At the prompt (c:\.....>) enter: ipconfig /all, press [ENTER]
- Ensure DHCP Enabled == YES
- Note Default Gateway IP Address
-
TEST: Open Web Browser: Connect to Default Gateway IP Address

you want the default gateway which is usually http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.2.1
