here is the problem:
1.opera and mozilla firefox do not work properly:they load web sites REALLY slow and usually not even fully(i don't have the thumbnails on the videos on youtube, etc.)or they just don't load.i am now with google chrome and it works perfectly good all thou some sites don't work-like when i try to register on some websites it doesn't load.
2.most(if not all)games/programs that use internet don't work for instance: when i try to update a game it is just stuck when it is downloading the files, multiplayer doesn't work, etc.
i have tested my internet connection and it is good (not slow at all);i have tried reconnecting the internet adapter-still the same;i have the latest flash player and other programs that i need,i have tried cleaning my computer with ccleaner and avg pc tuneup,de-fragmenting my disc(not sure how that helps but still),and scanning my C drive for problems.other computers that are connected to this internet work (my mom uses my modem on another computer).i have uninstalled recently installed programs that may cause this(people told me to do it because they might interfere with internet).i have scanned my computer for viruses,my firewall is stopped REALLY NEED HELP! please post anything that you think would work!

How did you 'Test your internet connection/speed?" Just wondering, since your browsers are behaving badly.

Suggest you check out www.bleepingcomputer.com for a variety of online scanners that are far better than the ones listed.

A quick check: 1. check the network settings - TCP/IP properties - DNS servers. These should be automatically obtained from your internet provider. At a CMD prompt (RUN - CMD) use IPCONFIG /all to show the TCP/IP settings esp. DNS . Compare this with your mom's DNS setting. If it's different, red flag! infection likely. 2. User IPCONFIG /FLUSHDNS to purge your computer's cache of website addresses. This will force your computer to go ask the provider for the proper address of the website you want.

Microsoft's Knowledge Base has articles on repairing TCP/IP which is what I think is damaged, or corrupted by malware.

Get a Live Linux CD and boot your computer from that. If internet works with that perfectly then your operating system is infected. Try to down load and burn Trinity Rescue Kit, boot from that and clean your computer. www.trinityhome.com

Try reseting the router, plus try connecting to the internet on safe mode, just to see if any application is messing with the connection.

last ditch attempt would be to update your wireless or network card drivers. Failing that then replace it to another wireless card.
