Is there software so can I make calls from my pc to line, wireless and toll free telephones? Than you so much?

I want to make telephone calls from my pc to line, celullars and toll free (1 800......) telephones. Is it possible, what software and hardware do I needd?

I don't know about the reliability of Skype because I have never used it. I do use Yahoo Phone Out which is a minimal fee - $2.50 per month plus one to two pennies per minute world wide. You just need a headset with a mic attached. Mic does not have to be attached, it just makes for much better sound. Also I use the Logitech headset/mic with USB connection instead of using the two plugs in my laptop. It is better quality than actual land line.
