There aren't any viruses that can really do any damage to linux. The problem is that without antivirus installed, a virus in an email can be passed along to other users with different OSes, so it is a good idea to have AV software, even if it only checks/scans webpages and emails so you don't infect friends or family or co-workers or classmates.

Linux can be affected by viruses. Compared to Windows there's only been a few Linux viruses, but they're certainly around.

I have never used any AV software on Linux since I started working with it in 2006 and have never had any problems

The virus impacts your laptop once you have ran a undeniable software. beginning a image record or a song record won't get your laptop to have a pandemic. in spite of the undeniable fact that an executable record will if there's a pandemic located.

If you have Linux, than you will most likely never get a virus.
Linux doesnt have a lot of viruses compared to Windows.
