How can I access folders on a server through a wireless router?

I have a dsl modem connected to a VPN. The VPN connects to a switch with 12 ports. The server is connected to a port on the switch. The server is only a file server, there are no special services running. We all connect to the server to access files. I would like to set up a wireless router to be able to access the files on the server wirelessly. How can I do this?

You should be able to setup the server to act as an FTP. You may have to open a port and grant access to a specific IP or group of IP's - or, a work group. If you want to download/upload files to/from the server, an FTP should suffice. If you're wanting to access files from the server, and run them on/from a remote computer, you will need to setup a VPN to the server to/from your designated computer(s).

If your IPs are static or you need a password to access the server then connect port one of the router to the switch. This makes the w.router act as a access point thus giving you wireless access
