You can run Backtrack 5 in a virtualbox.

It is like running a computer inside another computer. You can install virtualbox on any platform. This includes Mac OS X, Windows, and Linux.

This way, Backtrack 5 will use your wireless connection. Plus, you can be in two systems at the same time. It's kind of cool. You may have already used it. I'm just telling you in case you haven't.
If you want it as the only system on the machine, then you can still get a wireless driver for it. Look in the synaptic package manager and search for the name of the wireless driver that you need. You need a connection to do this, so make sure that you plug the network cable in. Mark the driver(s) for installation, then install them. Wireless with Linux does work on HP computers. I know that for a fact.
"when i try to enable the integrated module it says usb not detected or something
How do i make backtrack 5 work with adapter."
It does that because there is no driver for the NIC installed. In Windows, you usually get a disk that comes with your network card that contains the driver. In Linux, you need to install these drivers over the internet via synaptic package manager, terminal, or other methods.
