Ok, my internet is a BT Home Hub and has worked fine ever since i have had it until a few days ago when it started showing a little yellow triangle saying "Limited Connectivity".

I have tried turning off my Router and laptop, leaving it for 5-10 minutes and turning back on but the problem still persists.

I have tried going into the Home Hub settings (http://[Ip Address]) but cannot access it because it asks me for a User name and Password i have never been told.

- Anyone have any suggestions to help me fix this problem?

Thank-you in advance to all that offer possible solutions.

= Currently have Laptop connected directly to the HomeHub via an Ethernet cable.

The default username/password for the BT Home Hub is as follows:

Username: admin

Password:

BT Home Hub v1.0 password is the serial number of the home hub, written on a sticker on the home hub. If that doesn't work, try admin as the password as well as the username.

BT Home Hub v2.0 password is printed on a sticker on the home hub labelled "Admin Password".

Once you have logged into your home home, go to Configuration > Wireless.

You should see a drop down box with a channel number in it. Now try changing the channel number, this will not hurt the Homehub. After saving these settings, try reconnecting to your home hub.

All wireless routers use the 2.4 - 2.5 GHz frequency band. This range is split into 13 wireless channels and the channel I advise to change is basically one of these 13 channels.

Lots of other devices such as mobile phones, portable phones, car alarms, microwave ovens and even your next door neighbours wireless router can cause interference, so changing the channel is a little bit like retuning to find an empty channel that isn't getting intereference.

It's a matter of trial and error as to whether you will connect. If you still can't connect then try changing the channel again. If your laptop still won't connect then you should contact BT for assistance.

There is an excellent web site (not related to BT) that has loads of details about the BT Home Hub and it's here:

http://www.frequencycast.co.uk/homehub.html

Specifically this section:

http://www.filesaveas.com/bthomehub_troubleshooting.html

and BT's own site is here:

http://www.bt.com/help/hub

Hope it helps.

do you have a static ip address device on your network. change it to dhcp or just turn the device off then boot it all up again.

i recently had this problem with a printer that connected wirelessly. my computer wouldnt get an ip address after installing the printer. the printer was set on static IP, i changed it to dhcp, all good now.

you can find the default password for your modem probably by doing an internet search.

httP//api.home or 192.168.1.1

username = Admin

Pasword = Admin

its in the manual

try resetting the home hub wiht the papercip button

also delete tthe network form your PC list then try to reconnect to it afresh this often solves it.

It's usually a blank for the username and 'admin' for the password.
